Covered California offers special programs for some enrollees that go beyond standard health insurance. If you qualify, you will be contacted directly — you cannot sign up on your own.

Beyond Covered

Covered California's Beyond Covered initiative offers two programs for eligible members: grocery support and child scholarship accounts.

If you qualify, Covered California's partner FORWARD will contact you by email, text or phone. Participation is voluntary and will not affect your health insurance.

What it offers
A reloadable debit card for groceries
Up to $1,000 in your child's CalKIDS scholarship account
Who may be invited
Enrollees with a chronic health condition and household income at or below 250% of the federal poverty level
Enrollees with California-born children under 18 months old
What you may need to do
Reply to FORWARD's invitation and complete enrollment
Complete well-child visits and vaccines; claim your child's CalKIDS account

Respond quickly.

Spots are limited. Respond as soon as you can when you get your invitation.

You can leave at any time.

Joining is your choice. Contact FORWARD directly if you decide to leave the program. It won’t change your Covered California health insurance.
